We were told in the seventies that automation would bring about more recreational time and a much shorter working week. Unfortunately it never materialised. The things we could do if we were free from a daily grind. Maybe it would take a paradigm shift in thinking, but there are much greater purposes in life than being the cog in someone else’s money making machine. If I didn’t have to worry about a basic income, I have a hundred paths I’d want to explore. If we didn’t have to train our children for work, we’d be able to give them a real education. Strive for the Utopia rather than succumb to Dystopia.
